What a healthy and happy day!

<

Wow holy crapperino today has been such a happy and healthy day in our house. We started it all this morning with Ashley prepping for her slow cooker chili and it's vegetarian.

All day our house has smelled so amazingly like a authentic Mexican restraunt, any time we have come in from anywhere, or even just walking into the kitchen has just filled my head with the amzing smell of it. I can't wait to try it.
After Ashley finished prepping I got started right away on making us a breakfast of what I'm calling "Green Velvatine" smoothies, and whole wheat toast.

"Green Velvatine Smoothie"
-1 Kiwi cut into 6 small pieces
-1 larger navel orange
-2/3 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
-1/3 cup plain yogurt
-11/2 cup low fat soy milk
-11/2 fresh spinach leaves
-1 cup ice cubes
Blend above ingredients in a blender and serve makes two large glasses

This smoothie making thing was kind of a big deal for me because Ashley is someone who loves her morning fruit and vegetable smoothies especially on weekend, and I just kind of picked random fruits and veg around the house and "Bam" it was fantastic.

Next we decided to go for our first training run for our upcoming race season. pictured is Ashley and I in our winter running gear, we could have actually probably used toques today too, as it was that cold here in Calgary today but we braved the cold in our running hats from last years Stampede Road Race here in Calgary.
After running we were off to run errands

In our errand running we first stopped of at Starbucks where I had my usual Skinny Vanilla Latte, Ashley had Awake Tea Latte, and since our next stop was to visit my grandma we picked her up a green tea with half and half cream. After visiting my grandma we stopped at M&M meat shop to pick up some healthy and quick dinner items such as Vegetarian Lasagna and some sirloin steaks. Finally we stopped at Planet Organic Market a favorite fresh foods market of ours here in Calgary. There we picked up some whole wheat Sunny Boy pancake mix, Puffins cinnamon cereal, a chocolate chip Cliff Bar (I freaking love these) and a One coconut watter with passion fruit flavoring.
Now we're just eating the Slow Cooker vegetarian chili that Ashley created, and then it's time to bolt to soccer.

Hope all of you have had as happy and healthy of a day as I've had!
